Inventions :

First Car: Benz Patent-Motor Wagon (1886)
The story begins in 1886 when Carl Benz introduced the world's first motor car. The car used a 954 cc single-cylinder engine and was less powerful than an average horse, but had a top speed of about 16 km / h. Benz's wife, Mrs. Bertha, had been a great help to him. Not only did he assist Benz in the production of this car, but he also made the world's first car trip in 1888. During this 195 km journey, he noticed that the brakes were running out, so he pulled a leather shell on Kobler, thus inventing the first brake pads.

Supercharger: Mercedes (1921)
Power, or lack thereof, was an important issue in the early years of the automobile. The supercharger was an air compressor that provided more oxygen in each propulsion cycle and burned more fuel, thus producing more power. Mercedes was the first company to use this technology in its production vehicles. These cars were known as Kompressor, a name that was used only a few years ago.

8-speed manual transmission: Maybach DS8 (1931)
8-speed manual transmissions are seldom found in the world today, and even 7-speed models are scarce, but in 1931 the 8-speed manual transmission parted with an 8-liter 12-cylinder engine in the Maybach Zeppelin DS8. Maybach, who built powerful tank engines in World War II, joined Daimler-Benz in 1960.

Turbodiesel: Mercedes-Benz 300SD (1978)
Diesel propulsion provided another opportunity for Mercedes in the 1970s, as gasoline prices skyrocketed and diesel efficiency increased; But for the first time, Mercedes introduced the turbo version of the diesel engine in the S-Class W116 with the code 300SD. This car was only available in the United States. This 3-cylinder 3-liter engine had only 111 horsepower despite the use of turbo. The 9.4-liter fuel consumption of this car affects buyers, and 28,634 units of it were sold by 1980. This engine became more powerful in the latest W126 model and returned to the market once again. This engine was only available in the United States and was available until 1985.
